Vision

To provide an effective full time professional ambulance service for the protection of the life and health of the people within the communities LifeCare serves. With the utilization of highly trained medical personnel who are capable of performing the most modern and advanced techniques in pre-hospital care, LifeCare will function as an independent extension of the hospital emergency departments utilizing the directions of the assigned medical directors.

History

LifeCare Ambulance began operations on August 1, 1986 by purchasing Majoras Ambulance Inc, a company that served Lorain County for more than 20 years. We signed our first EMS contract in November 1986 and have functioned as the primary EMS provider for city of Elyria and Carlisle Township ever since. In 1987, Laasco Ambulance in Lorain was purchased, and in 1995, LifeCare Ambulance Inc. signed a contract to become the sole EMS provider for the City of Lorain. In 2004 LifeCare Ambulance was able to secure the contract to provide EMS for the City of Amherst, Amherst Township, and South Amherst. The most recent endeavor came in August 2005 as LifeCare was granted the contract to secure a 24hr Paramedic unit in the City of Avon to provide immediate transportation for the Avon Emergency Care Center.
